Lifetime Will Premiere the Original Movie

Starring Salli Richardson-Whitfield (“Eureka”), Rockmond Dunbar (“Sons of Anarchy”), Nicole Ari Parker (“The Deep End”), Ernie Hudson (“Oz”), Tisha Campbell-Martin (“My Wife and Kids”), Michael B. Jordan (“Friday Night Lights”) and Keith David (“ER”) on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 8:00pm ET/PT.

About “Pastor Brown”

A wayward preacher’s daughter, Jesse Brown, (Salli Richardson-Whitfield) returns home for the first time in more than a decade after her father (Keith David) falls terminally ill.  His dying wish – that she take over as head of the Mount Olive Baptist Church – turns her and her family’s life upside down. Jesse reluctantly undertakes her father’s commission, thereby pitting herself against her sister (Nicole Ari Parker) and the leaders of the church who know of her sordid past. Through accepting her father’s request, Jesse embarks upon a path that will change her life when she reconnects with her family and estranged teenage son (Michael B. Jordan) and finds the dignity and self-love she lost long ago.  Rockmond Dunbar also stars as Amir Rahim alongside Campbell-Martin as Amanda Carlton, Hudson as Deacon Todd, Tasha Smith as Angelique Todd and Michael Beach as Rev. Callaghan.

Pastor Brown was executive produced by Rock Capital Films with Shaun Livingston and Charles Oakley. Re’Shaun Frear, Dunbar and Carol Shine are Producers.

The script was written by Rhonda F. Baraka.  The film is the directorial debut for Rockmond Dunbar.
